Railway safety is a major issue, as obstruction of the tracks and structural collapses can cause fatal accidents. In this project, a Smart Railway Track Obstacle and Crack Detection System is introduced to improve railway safety by using real-time tracking and automated alarms. Ultrasonic sensors are used to detect obstructions on the track, whereas infrared (IR) sensors detect cracks, ensuring early warning for possible dangers. A Z44N MOSFET regulates the braking response of a 12V DC motor, replicating an emergency brake system. The system also includes an LCD display for immediate status reporting and GSM module for instantaneous SMS notification to railway authorities, allowing for quick intervention. Through the combination of various sensing technologies and automated reporting, this system presents a new and proactive solution to railway safety, reducing risk factors of track obstructions and cracks. The solution proposed improves dependability, minimizes human involvement, and provides timely reactions, greatly enhancing railway accident prevention.
