PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a railway track space obstacle detection system capable of quantitatively evaluating the presence or absence of an obstacle in a building limit, more generally, in a railway track space and, moreover, capable of detecting the presence or absence of an obstacle by using a business train.SOLUTION: A railway track space obstacle detection system includes a digital video camera 20 installed on a vehicle which travels along a railway track, and an image synchronizing device 10 which synchronizes an image photographed by the digital video camera 20 with speed information on a vehicle. A railway track space of the front side in the advancing direction is photographed by the digital video camera 20 while causing the vehicle on which the digital video camera 20 is installed to travel, two sheets of images photographed on such positions different from each other on the railway track that a distance between the positions calculated by using the speed information gets to a selected distance are compared from each other and, thereby, the presence or absence of an obstacle in the railway track space is detected.

    【課題】建築限界内の支障物の有無、より一般的には線路空間における支障物の有無を定量的に評価することができ、しかも営業列車を用いて支障物の有無の検知を行うことができる線路空間支障物検知システムを提供する。【解決手段】線路空間支障物検知システムは、線路を走行する車両に設置されるデジタルビデオカメラ20と、デジタルビデオカメラ20により撮影される画像と車両の速度情報とを同期する画像同期装置10とを有する。デジタルビデオカメラ20が設置された車両を走行させながらデジタルビデオカメラ20により進行方向前方の線路空間を撮影し、線路上の互いに異なる位置であって速度情報を用いて計算されるそれらの間の距離が選択された距離になる位置で撮影された2枚の画像を比較することにより線路空間における支障物の有無を検知する。【選択図】図1
