Owing to high costs and operation risks in teaching and training the rotary deck crane, a set of the deck crane simulation training system which has excellent 3D reality and is particularly applied in the teaching and training of the navigation students and mariners was developed. The 3D Studio Max was adopted to construct the 3D model. The First Character Controller was applied to simulate the operator of the crane and realize the roaming and interaction of the system in Unity3D. The cargo hoisting ropes and lifting arm ropes were simulated via the improved classical mass-spring model. The kinetic model of the deck crane was established. The result of simulation shows that the simulation system of the deck crane has complete functions and simple operation, reaching the effect of operation and training of the deck crane.
