Customers of manned and unmanned aircraft are moving towards using more hybrid electric propulsion systems (see Figure 1) because these systems are flexible, reduce carbon emissions, and optimize fuel consumption. They are also lighter and take up less space, with lower noise and vibration levels, and reduced maintenance costs.
