In this paper, PV based EV charging station for remote countryside and roadside restaurant loads is proposed. High voltage gain based on voltage multiplier converter with isolation and 3 State Switching cell (3SSC) is proposed which is capable of reducing the voltage stresses across the switches, allowing use of high current switches to reduce conduction losses to improve efficiency. The input stage is interleaved to reduce the current ripple and the converter topology and switching strategy avoids common mode currents and thus lower the EMI. The 200W system feeds off grid roadside EV charging bay and restaurant lighting loads, by fast load management; by inputting the energy from the PV source. A single control is shown effective in operating the system under load side and source side perturbation. The presented results also demonstrate the accurate MPPT tracking for variation in the insolation to harvest maximum available energy from the sustainable source. The proposed high gain converter is tested to affirm high efficiency EV charging operation with load control over a wide range amidst load and source side perturbation.
