The Container Storage Problem (CSP) in port terminals is crucial for optimizing space utilization and improving operational efficiency. Our study proposes an innovative mathematical model aimed at minimizing unproductive movements of containers by integrating departure dates of containers at the first and second levels of storage stacks. Applied to an Algerian port, our model has shown promising results, thereby enhancing container storage management in port terminals.
