In many automotive applications there is a need for large scale simulation for acquiring GPS data and testing the designed systems. In this paper a simulator is presented that is able to produce virtual trajectories of a vehicle along a given route and produce GPS log files in various protocols. The benefit that stems from this application is that many driving styles and road conditions can be applied while creating as many logs as the user wishes. The specific application was developed for stimulating and testing a navigation system extension that automatically detects deviations between car movement and digital map.
