In the aftermath of a disaster it is common to see Search and Rescue teams struggle to get to affected areas due to damage to existing lines of access and the lack of accurate maps that reflect the ground reality after disasters. In this paper we introduce a system that makes use of a network of drones where different types of drones are tasked for different applications like 3D mapping of the extent of Damage, locating stranded population and air dropping of supplies. In conventional systems each drone requires a human operator and a variety of sensors to operate safely whereas in our system we use the cloud to transfer the data gained by specialized drones carrying sophisticated sensors onto relatively cheaper drones which allows them to navigate better. Our system consists of a control station and a number of drones which are all networked and each drone is delegated a separate task. There will be drones that create 3D maps using hector slam and other drones that use the created maps to locate stranded people and log their GPS positions and cargo drones that air drop supplies at the logged GPS coordinates.
