This paper presents a novel drone landing method based on radio ranging, aiming to provide auxiliary information for aligning the centerline of the runway during the landing process, without adding additional airborne or ground equipment. This auxiliary landing method can further enhance the operability of manual intervention, helping flight operators to complete the UAV landing process accurately. When facing complex terrain, extreme weather, and anomalies in the autonomous landing system, the method is beneficial. Dual-one-way ranging (DOWR) is a method based on two-way time transfer (TWTT) for ranging and time synchronization, for which GPS is not necessary. In this paper, we first demonstrated the accuracy and effectiveness of an improved DOWR method through simulation, then applied it to landing guidance, and finally proposed landing guidance by joint ranging of two stations.
