This paper proposes efficient regenerative torque control method of PMSM(Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine) drive. Generally, regenerative power from PMSM drive should have torque limitation for dissipated power during low speed operation. However, correct torque limitation trajectory cannot be easily obtained because of the varied PMSM parameters during the practical operation. To achieve efficient regenerative torque control of PMSM, this paper applies the resonant DC/DC converter between DC-link voltage and battery source. Besides, a novel adaptive tracking method for optimal regenerative torque limitation which does not need online motor parameters estimation is proposed. Proposed method is verified by the experiment.
