A computer implemented method for monitoring an autonomous operating zone, AOZ, including a number of one or more autonomous vehicles, is provided. Each vehicle has sensors arranged to detect an ego-position of the vehicle and relative positions of surrounding objects. At an object location correlating entity receiving in real-time data from an autonomous vehicle operating in the AOZ, the real-time data comprising a report including an ego-position of the vehicle, one or more positions and/or poses of objects detected by the vehicle, responsive to receiving the report: determining a detected object location for each detected object based on the reported vehicle ego-position and reported detected object position relative to the vehicle ego-position, determining a correlation for each determined object location with one or more expected object locations in the AOZ, and determining if the object is an expected object or unexpected object at the determined object location based on the correlation meeting a correlation condition.
