Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for classifying a situation of a vehicle. An objective of the present invention is to provide an apparatus for classifying a situation of a vehicle and an operation method thereof, which can increase the accuracy of situation recognition of an autonomous vehicle by using sound information. The apparatus for classifying a situation of a vehicle comprises: at least one microphone obtaining a sound in or around a vehicle; at least one camera obtaining an image in or around the vehicle; at least one ultrasonic sensor provided on the vehicle; and a situation determination part determining a first candidate class corresponding to the sound among a plurality of classes representing situations, determining a second candidate class corresponding to the image among the plurality of classes, and determining a current situation based on the first candidate class and the second candidate class.

    차량의 상황 분류 방법 및 장치를 개시한다. 본 개시의 일 측면에 의하면, 차량 내부 또는 주위의 음향을 획득하는 적어도 하나의 마이크로폰; 상기 차량 내부 또는 주위의 영상을 획득하는 적어도 하나의 카메라; 상기 차량에 구비되는 적어도 하나의 초음파 센서; 및 상황을 나타내는 복수의 클래스들 중 상기 음향에 대응하는 제1 후보클래스를 결정하고, 상기 복수의 클래스들 중 상기 영상에 대응하는 제2 후보클래스를 결정하고, 상기 제1 후보클래스 및 상기 제2 후보클래스에 기초하여 현재의 상황을 판단하는 상황판단부를 포함하는 차량의 상황 분류장치 및 그의 동작 방법을 제공한다.
