Disclosed in the present invention are an avoidance assisting device and method for actively avoiding a rear collision. The avoidance assisting device of the present invention comprises: a sensor unit mounted on a vehicle and sensing distance information and image information about adjacent vehicles located around the vehicle; and a control unit monitoring a rear situation of the vehicle by using the sensed distance information and image information, applying the monitored results to an artificial intelligence model to predict rear collision with an adjacent vehicle, and when the predicted result is predicted to be a rear collision, determining whether avoidance is possible by using the artificial intelligence model, and controlling the vehicle based on the determined results.

    본 발명은 능동적으로 후방 충돌을 회피하는 회피보조장치 및 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 회피보조장치는 차량에 장착되고, 차량의 주변에 위치한 인접 차량에 대한 거리 정보 및 영상 정보를 센싱하는 센서부 및 센싱된 거리 정보 및 영상 정보를 이용하여 차량의 후방 상황을 모니터링하고, 모니터링된 결과를 인공지능 모델에 적용하여 인접 차량과의 후방 충돌 여부를 예측하며, 예측된 결과가 후방 충돌 발생으로 예측되면 인공지능 모델을 이용하여 회피 가능 여부를 판단하고, 판단된 결과를 기반으로 차량을 제어하는 제어부를 포함한다.
