An electronic parking brake system comprises: an electronic parking brake having a pair of brake pads disposed on both sides of a brake disk rotated with a rear wheel of a vehicle together, a piston provided to compress the brake pad, a nut member provided to compress the piston, a spindle member provided to move the nut member, and a motor rotating the spindle member; a current sensor detecting a current of the motor; and a control unit controlling the motor to perform parking operation with respect to the electronic parking brake. The control unit detects an inrush current flowing the motor through the current sensor during parking operation and determines whether there is low-voltage failure based on the detected inrush current.

    전자식 주차 브레이크 시스템은 차량의 후륜과 함께 회전하는 브레이크 디스크의 양측에 배치된 한 쌍의 브레이크 패드, 브레이크 패드를 가압하도록 마련된 피스톤, 피스톤을 가압하도록 마련된 너트부재, 너트부재를 이동시키도록 마련된 스핀들부재, 스핀들부재를 회전시키는 모터를 포함하는 전자식 주차 브레이크와, 모터의 전류를 검출하는 전류센서 및 모터를 제어하여 전자식 주차 브레이크에 대한 주차 작동을 수행하는 제어부를 포함하고, 제어부는 주차 작동시 전류센서를 통해 모터에 흐르는 돌입전류를 검출하고, 검출된 돌입전류를 근거로 저전압 고장을 판단한다.
