The present invention relates to a variable stiffness wheel and an obstacle overcoming method using the same. In the variable stiffness wheel and the obstacle overcoming method using the same, the variable stiffness wheel comprises: a wheel structure; and a tire unit fixed to the outer circumferential surface of the wheel structure. The tire unit includes: a pair of blocking films dividing an inner space into first and second spaces partitioned from each other; and a plurality of flexible support units positioned at predetermined intervals in each of the first and second spaces and configured to restore a shape of the tire unit. The present invention relates to the variable stiffness wheel with improved controllability.

    가변 강성 바퀴 및 이를 이용한 장애물 극복방법에서, 상기 가변강성 바퀴는 휠 구조체와 상기 휠 구조체의 외주면에 고정되는 타이어부를 포함한다. 상기 타이어부는, 내부 공간을 서로 구획되는 제1 및 제2 공간들로 구획하는 한 쌍의 차단막들, 및 상기 제1 및 제2 공간들 각각에 소정 간격으로 위치하며, 상기 타이어부의 형상을 복원하는 복수의 유연지지부들을 포함한다.
