The present invention relates to an autonomous driving apparatus and a method thereof. According to the present invention, the autonomous driving apparatus comprises: a sensor unit which detects surrounding vehicles of a user vehicle autonomously driving, and the status of a passenger in the user vehicle; a driving information detection unit which detects the driving information on the driving status of the user vehicle; a memory which stores map information; and a processor which controls the autonomous driving of the user vehicle based on the map information stored in the memory. The memory stores a lane change rate which is determined based on the driver′s lane change patterns, which are analyzed based on the driving information of the user vehicle when the user vehicle changes the lane, and the condition information of the road when the user vehicle changes the lane, and indicates the speed of the lane change of the user vehicle. The processor controls the autonomous driving of the user vehicle in accordance with a first expected driving trajectory which is generated based on the map information and the lane change rate stored in the memory and the driving information of the user vehicle detected by the driving information detection unit, and controls the autonomous driving of the user vehicle by selectively applying the first expected driving trajectory and a second expected driving trajectory in accordance with the status of the passenger detected by the sensor unit. The second expected driving trajectory is generated by reflecting a corrected lane change rate which is obtained by correcting the lane change rate stored in the memory. The autonomous driving apparatus and the method thereof are able to improve driving stability.

    본 발명은 자율 주행 장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로서, 자율 주행 중인 자차량의 주변 차량 및 자차량에 탑승한 탑승자의 상태를 검출하는 센서부, 자차량의 주행 상태에 대한 주행 정보를 검출하는 주행 정보 검출부, 지도 정보를 저장하는 메모리, 및 메모리에 저장된 지도 정보에 기초하여 자차량의 자율 주행을 제어하는 프로세서를 포함하고, 메모리는, 자차량의 차로 변경 시 자차량의 주행 정보를 토대로 분석되는 운전자의 차로 변경 패턴, 및 자차량의 차로 변경 시의 도로의 상태 정보에 기초하여 결정되며 자차량의 차로 변경의 빠르기를 지표하는 차로 변경율을 저장하고, 프로세서는, 메모리에 저장된 지도 정보 및 차로 변경율과, 주행 정보 검출부에 의해 검출된 자차량의 주행 정보를 토대로 생성되는 제1 예상 주행 궤적에 따라 자차량의 자율 주행을 제어하며, 센서부에 의해 검출되는 탑승자의 상태에 따라 제1 예상 주행 궤적 및 제2 예상 주행 궤적을 선택적으로 적용하여 자차량의 자율 주행을 제어하되, 제2 예상 주행 궤적은 메모리에 저장된 차로 변경율이 보정된 보정 차로 변경율이 반영되어 생성되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
