The present invention relates to a fail-safe method for a parallel hybrid electric vehicle and, more specifically, provides a fail-safe method for a parallel hybrid electric vehicle, which can secure driving stability by minimizing electric discharge of a high voltage battery and preventing overdischarge as a counter electromotive force of a motor is generated by using engine power through a transition to a limp home mode corresponding to a fail-safe mode of the vehicle when a motor system in which a motor generating driving power is not operated is out of order.

    본 발명은 병렬형 하이브리드 차량의 페일 세이프 방법에 관한 것으로, 상세하게는 주행 동력을 발생하는 모터의 구동이 불가한 모터 계통 고장이 발생하는 경우 차량의 페일 세이프 모드(fail-safe mode)에 해당하는 림프 홈(Limp Home) 모드로 천이하여 엔진 동력을 이용하여 모터의 역기전력을 발생함으로써 고전압 배터리의 방전을 최소화하고 과방전을 방지하여 주행 안전성을 확보하는 병렬형 하이브리드 차량의 페일 세이프 방법을 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다.
