The present invention relates to a system of predicting a collision probability for moving vehicles and a method of predicting a collision for moving vehicles using the same. The system of predicting a collision probability for moving vehicles comprises: a calculation unit calculating an area on a flat surface on which a subject vehicle occupies a ground surface by using latitude and longitude received by a GPS terminal installed in the subject vehicle; a measurement unit calculating a relative distance between the subject vehicle and a surrounding vehicle with an earth coordinate system indicating an area on a flat surface on which the subject vehicle and the surrounding vehicle occupy; and a collision warning unit distinguishing a collision risk between the subject vehicle and the surrounding vehicle by using the measured relative distance, and giving a warning of a risk.

    차량 간 충돌 가능성 판단 시스템 및 이를 이용한 차량 간 충돌 가능성 판단 방법에서, 상기 차량 간 충돌 가능성 판단 시스템은, 자차에 설치된 GPS 단말기가 수신하는 위도 및 경도를 이용하여 상기 자차가 지표면에서 차지하는 평면상의 영역을 계산하는 계산부, 상기 자차 및 주변차량이 차지하는 평면상의 영역을 나타내는 지구좌표계를 이용하여 상기 자차와 상기 주변차량 간 상대거리를 계산하는 상대거리 측정부 및 상기 측정된 상대거리를 이용하여 상기 자차와 상기 주변차량의 충돌 위험을 판별하고 위험을 경고하는 충돌 경고부를 포함한다.
