The present invention relates to an apparatus for estimating a travelable distance of an electric vehicle, which comprises: a current measuring unit for measuring a current of a battery; a state of charge (SOC) calculation unit for calculating an SOC value indicating a charging state of the battery by using a Peukert equation for the cumulative discharge current of the battery; and an SOC correcting unit for correcting the SOC value by reflecting the loss due to a predicted Peukert effect from a present point through a discharge current pattern consumed during the latest running time of a predetermined time from the present point. The present invention provides the apparatus and a method for estimating the travelable distance of the electric vehicle, which can estimate the travelable distance with high accuracy by reflecting a loss amount due to the Peukert effect.

    본 발명은, 배터리의 전류를 측정하는 전류 측정부; 상기 배터리의 누적된 방전전류에 대해 퓨커트(Peukert) 방정식을 이용하여 상기 배터리의 충전상태를 나타내는 SOC(State Of Charge)값을 연산하는 SOC 연산부; 및 현재 시점으로부터 기 설정된 시간만큼의 최근 주행시간 동안 소모된 방전전류 패턴을 통해 현시점부터 예상되는 퓨커트 효과에 의한 손실을 반영하여 상기 SOC값을 보정하는 SOC 보정부;를 포함하는, 전기자동차의 주행 가능 거리 추정 장치에 관한 것이다.
