The present invention provides an electric vehicle charging device installed in a pole which ensures stability required for installing the electric vehicle charging device in a pole and can contribute to spread of an electric vehicle charging infrastructure by controlling a charger cover according to a charging operation, and a method for controlling an electric vehicle charging device installed in a pole. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the electric vehicle charging device installed in a pole comprises a body which is installed in the pole and is composed to supply a power supply to the electric vehicle through a charger. The body includes: a holder providing a mounting space of the charger; the cover controlled so that the mounting space is separated from the outside of the body when being in a closed state and the mounting space is exposed to the outside of the body when being an opened state; and a control part controlling a state of the cover in correspondence to a plurality of charging operations of the body.

    본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따른 전주에 설치된 전기차 충전 장치는, 전주에 설치되고 충전기를 통해 전기차에 전원을 공급하도록 구성된 본체를 포함하고, 본체는, 충전기의 거치 공간을 제공하는 거치대와, 닫힌 상태일 때 거치 공간이 본체의 외부로부터 격리되고 열린 상태일 때 거치 공간이 본체의 외부에 노출되도록 제어되는 커버와, 본체의 복수의 충전 동작에 대응하여 커버의 상태를 제어하는 제어부를 포함할 수 있다.
