The present invention relates to a suspension equipment structure and method for reducing a wheel load of a railway vehicle, and more particularly, to a suspension equipment structure and method for reducing a wheel load of a railway vehicle that is provided with a load sensor and an actuator disposed between a bogie frame and a primary spring of the railway vehicle to allow the actuator to be driven at the time when wheel load reduction occurring upon the running of the railway vehicle on a transition region like an outlet of a sharp curve or gentle curve of the rails is sensed, thereby compensating for the wheel load reduction and increasing a degree of derailment safety upon the running of the railway vehicle to in advance protect the railway vehicle from the derailment accidents frequently happening. The suspension equipment structure according to the present invention includes: a load sensor disposed between a bogie frame and a primary spring of the railway vehicle to measure a wheel load in real time; an actuator for controlling a distance between the bogie frame and the primary spring; and a controller for extending the actuator, if it is determined that the wheel load detected by the load sensor is reduced, to increase the wheel load. The suspension method according to the present invention includes the steps of: measuring in real time a wheel load through a load sensor disposed between a bogie frame and a primary spring while the railway vehicle is running on the rails having a sharp curve or gentle curve; and comparing and determining whether the load measured in real time by the load sensor is less than a set wheel load reduction limit value and if less than the set wheel load reduction limit value, driving an actuator for controlling a distance between the bogie frame and the primary spring.
