The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for sensing a wheel alignment state of a vehicle. According to the present invention, a straight driving state of a vehicle is checked by using information or navigation map information of surrounding objects which are recognized through a vehicle radar or a camera, and vehicle speed and yaw rate information, and a wheel alignment of the vehicle is determined by using an accumulated value of a steering angle measured in the straight driving state. As such, the present invention enables a driver to recognize and cope with a misalignment state of the wheel alignment in a driving course without a separate wheel alignment sensing device. The present invention comprises: a structure sensor unit; a steering angle sensor; a yaw rate sensor; a straight driving determination unit; and a wheel alignment state determination unit. Thus, the present invention is able to reduce damage to vehicles or risks of accidents due to wheel misalignment.
본 발명은 차량 레이더 또는 카메라를 통해 인식되는 주변 물체들의 정보 또는 내비게이션 맵정보와, 차속 및 요레이트 정보를 이용하여 차량의 직진 주행 상태를 확인하고, 직진 주행 상태에서 측정된 조향각의 누적값을 이용하여 차량의 휠 얼라이먼트의 상태를 판정함으로써, 별도의 휠 얼라이먼트 감지 장치 없이도 주행 과정에서 운전자가 휠 얼라이먼트의 오정렬 상태를 인지하여 대처하도록 함으로써, 휠 미스얼라이먼트로 인한 차량 손상 또는 사고의 위험성을 개선시킬 수 있다.
