A non-aqueous electrolyte battery (11) has a bipolar electrode unit and an insulation layer (6) including a non-aqueous electrolyte. The insulation layer covers positive electrode and negative electrode active material layers (4, 5) on both surfaces of a current collector (3) of a bipolar electrode (11) of the unit. The unit is folded at predetermined distances to have flattening units (8) to face each other, and bending units (12) arranged between the flattening units and connecting the flattening units. The thickness (t) of a part of the insulation layer of the electrode located outside each bending unit is larger than the thickness (t0) of other parts of the insulation layer located on each flattening unit.

    비수 전해질 전지(11)는 바이폴라 전극 유닛, 및 비수 전해질을 포함하는 절연층(6)을 구비한다. 절연층은 상기 유닛의 바이폴라 전극(11)의 집전체(3)의 양면 상에서 정극 및 부극 활물질 층(4,5)을 피복한다. 상기 유닛은 서로 대향하도록 배치된 평탄부(8) 및 상기 평탄부 사이에 배치되어 상기 평탄부를 접속시키는 굴곡부(12)를 갖도록 미리 결정된 길이마다 절첩된다. 각각의 굴곡부의 외측 면 상에 위치하는 전극의 절연층의 한 부분의 두께(t)는, 각각의 평탄부 상에 위치하는 절연층의 다른 부분의 두께(t0)보다 더 크도록 설정된다.
