The present invention relates to a buffer for a rail vehicle, having a piston valve that divides the inside of a cylinder filled with a fluid into a compression chamber and a tension chamber. The piston valve comprises: a compression side flow path formed with a first inlet of a lower end penetrating through the compression chamber and with a first outlet of an upper end penetrating through the tension chamber, on the inside of a body; a tension side flow path formed with a second inlet of an upper end penetrating through the tension chamber and with a second outlet of a lower end penetrating through the compression chamber, on the inside of the body; a plunger installed on the compression side flow path and the tension side flow path, respectively, to be lifted, having opening/closing ends that are opposite to each other inserted into the first inlet and the second inlet in a blocked state, and formed with an introduction passage on the opening/closing ends to be opened by ascent during a stroke; and a guide groove extending at a regular curvature along a lateral side after being concavely formed on an outer periphery of the plunger, and guiding a fluid introduced through the introduction passage during a stroke to a curved line such that the fluid is moved to a lateral surface of the compression side flow path or the tension side flow path.

    본 발명에 따른 철도 차량용 완충기는, 유체가 충전된 실린더의 내부를 압축챔버 및 인장챔버로 구분하는 피스톤 밸브를 갖는 철도 차량용 완충기에 있어서, 상기 피스톤 밸브는, 몸체의 내부에서 하단의 제1유입구가 상기 압축챔버로 관통 형성되며, 상단의 제1유출구가 상기 인장챔버로 관통 형성되는 압축측 유로와, 상기 몸체의 내부에서 상단의 제2유입구가 상기 인장챔버로 관통 형성되며, 하단의 제2유출구가 상기 압축챔버로 관통 형성되는 인장측 유로와, 상기 압축측 유로와 상기 인장측 유로에 승강 가능하게 각각 설치되고, 상호 반대되는 개폐단이 상기 제1유입구와 상기 제2유입구에 차단된 상태로 삽입되며, 상기 개폐단에는 행정시 승강에 의해 개방되도록 유입 통로가 형성되는 플런저 및, 상기 플런저의 외주에 오목하게 형성된 후 측방을 따라 일정 곡률로 연장되며, 행정시 상기 유입 통로를 통해 유입되는 유체를 곡선으로 안내하여 상기 압축측 유로 또는 상기 인장측 유로의 측면으로 이동시키는 안내홈을 포함한다.
