According to the present invention, a hybrid vehicle includes: a hybrid controller for determining a motor torque slope and an engine torque slope to be minimum based on drivers requested torque and available motor torque, in a mode conversion section that is switched from an electric vehicle (EV) mode to a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) mode; a motor controller for controlling the motor such that the motor torque can vary according to the motor torque slope; and an engine controller controlling the engine such that the engine torque can vary in accordance with the engine torque slope. Thus, the present invention can effectively control engine torque and motor torque in comparison with fuel efficiency.
