자차(自車)와 후속차(後續車)와의 사이의 차간(車間) 거리를 적절히 유지하는 것에 의하여, 자차와 후속차와의 충돌을 회피하는 가능성을 높인다. 자차의 주위의 물체의 거동을 비접촉으로 검출하는 검출 장치(20)를, 자차에 설치한다. 자차의 후방(後方)을 달리는 후속차를 향하여 경보에 관한 경보 동작을 행하는 경보 장치(40)와, 검출 장치(20)에 의한 검출 결과에 기초하여, 경보 장치(40)를 제어하는 제어 장치(30)를 자차에 설치한다. 제어 장치(30)는, 검출 장치(20)에 의한 검출 결과가, 자차의 주위의 물체의 거동이 부자연스러운 거동 패턴에 해당하는 경우에, 경보 동작을 행하도록 경보 장치(40)를 제어한다.

    The purpose of the present invention is to increase the likelihood of avoiding a collision between a host vehicle and a following vehicle by appropriately maintaining an inter-vehicle distance between the host vehicle and the following vehicle. A host vehicle is provided with a detection device (20) that detects the behavior of an object in the surroundings of the host vehicle in a non-contact manner. The host vehicle is also provided with the following: a warning device (40) that performs a warning operation pertaining to a warning directed at a following vehicle that is traveling behind the host vehicle; and a control device (30) that controls the warning device (40) on the basis of the result of detection by the detection device (20). The control device (30) controls the warning device (40) so as to perform the warning operation in a case where the result of detection by the detection device (20) indicates that the behavior of an object in the surroundings of the host vehicle corresponds to an unnatural behavioral pattern.
