The present invention relates to an apparatus for identifying peripheral vehicles and a method thereof, and is designed to provide an apparatus for identifying peripheral vehicles and a method thereof, capable of providing an identification ability with a high accuracy by identifying the peripheral vehicles by comparing a vehicle trajectory and a speed pattern generated by accumulating and applying a behavior of its own vehicle in the location coordinates of peripheral vehicles with a vehicle trajectory and a speed pattern calculated based on the coordinate history and speed received from the peripheral vehicles. To this end, the apparatus for identifying peripheral vehicles of the present invention comprises: a sensor for measuring the location coordinate of a first peripheral vehicle, and the yaw rate and speed of its own vehicle; a V2V communication unit for receiving the coordinate history and speed from a plurality of peripheral vehicles; and a control unit which generates the vehicle trajectory and the speed pattern (hereinafter, first identification information) by accumulating and applying the behavior of its own vehicle in the location coordinate of the first peripheral vehicle, and recognizing the peripheral vehicles corresponding to the most similar identification information to the first identification information as the first peripheral vehicle by comparing the first identification information with the n^th identification information after calculating each of the vehicle trajectory and speed pattern (hereinafter, n^th identification information) based on the coordinate history and speed received through the V2V communication unit.

    본 발명은 주변차량 식별 장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것으로, 주변차량의 위치좌표에 자차의 거동(behavior)을 누적 적용하여 생성한 주행궤적 및 속도패턴과, 주변차량으로부터 수신한 좌표 히스토리와 속도를 기반으로 산출한 주행궤적 및 속도패턴을 비교하여 주변차량을 식별함으로써, 정확도 높은 식별 능력을 제공할 수 있는 주변차량 식별 장치 및 그 방법을 제공하고자 한다. 이를 위하여, 본 발명은 주변차량의 식별 장치에 있어서, 제 1 주변차량의 위치좌표, 자차의 요레이트와 속도를 측정하는 센서; 복수의 주변차량으로부터 좌표 히스토리와 속도를 수신하는 V2V 통신부; 및 상기 제 1 주변차량의 위치좌표에 자차의 거동을 누적 적용하여 주행궤적 및 속도패턴(이하, '제 1 식별정보'라 함)을 생성하고, 상기 V2V 통신부를 통해 수신된 좌표 히스토리와 속도를 기반으로 각각의 주행궤적 및 속도패턴(이하, '제 n 식별정보'라 함)을 산출한 후, 상기 제 1 식별정보를 상기 제 n 식별정보와 비교하여 상기 제 1 식별정보와 가장 유사한 식별정보에 상응하는 주변차량을 상기 제 1 주변차량으로 인식하는 제어부를 포함한다.
