An apparatus for recovering energy of a ship is disclosed. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus for recovering energy of a ship comprises: a rudder horn fixated to the rear of a hull; a rudder blade rotationally coupled to the rudder horn; a power generation propeller which rotates by a wake generated by a thrust propeller; a gear box having a power transmission member, which transmits rotation of the power generation propeller to a power generation device, therein; and a gear box installation space spaced formed between a lower surface of the rudder horn and one surface of the rudder blade spaced from the lower surface of the rudder horn to face the rudder horn. The gear box is relatively thinner than the gear box installation space and separably coupled to the lower surface of the rudder horn.
