The present invention relates to a caterpillar track for a mobile robot and a mobile robot having the same. The caterpillar track for a mobile robot comprises: a central member which forms a ring shape having a predetermined width; an inward protrusion member which protrudes inward from the inner circumferential surface of the central member; and an outward protrusion member which protrudes outward from the outer circumferential surface of the central member. The outward protrusion member comprises: a vertical member which vertically protrudes from the outer circumferential surface of the central member; and an inclination member which is attached to the vertical member to be inclined and has an end coming in contact with the ground. By having the structure, the caterpillar track for a mobile robot according to the present invention can effectively navigate over and through obstacles, such as stages, stepped portions, or the like in inside and outside environments. In addition, the inclination member of the caterpillar track has a curved structure in a forward and backward direction at a predetermined angle and in a right and left direction to come in point contact with the ground, thereby minimizing a slip between the ground and wheels and thus enabling stable driving.

    본 발명은, 소정의 폭을 갖는 링 형상을 이루는 중심부재와, 상기 중심부재의 내주면에서 내측으로 돌출되는 내부돌출부재와, 상기 중심부재의 외주면에서 외측으로 돌출되는 외부돌출부재로 이루어지는 이동로봇용 궤도륜으로서, 상기 외부돌출부재는, 상기 중심부재의 외주면에서 수직하게 돌출되는 수직부재와, 상기 수직부재에 경사지게 부착되고 끝단부가 지면에 접하는 경사부재로 이루어진다. 본 발명에 따른 이동로봇의 궤도륜은 상기 구조에 의해, 실내 및 실외 환경에서 계단이나 단턱 등의 장애물을 효과적으로 극복하여 주행할 수 있고 또한 궤도륜의 경사부재의 전후방향 소정각도 및 좌우방향 곡선구조로 인해서 지면과 점접촉을 함으로써 지면과 바퀴 사이 슬립 발생을 최소화하여 안정적인 주행이 가능하게 하는 등 유리한 효과가 발휘된다.
