본 발명은 초음파 기반 차량 운전자 인증 및 상태 감지 장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로서, 본 발명에 따른 초음파 기반 차량 운전자 인증 및 상태 감지 장치는 초음파의 송신시간과 송신된 초음파가 물체에 의해 반사되어 수신된 수신시간 차를 활용하여 환경에 영향을 받지 않으며, 운전자 형상에 따른 고유한 정보인 운전자의 깊이 정보를 획득하고, 획득된 운전자의 깊이 정보를 토대로 운전자를 인증하고, 운전자의 상태를 감지하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 본 발명에 따르면, 광 환경 변화에 영향을 받지 않아 운전자 인증 및 운전자 상태 감지 성능을 향상시킬 수 있는 효과가 있다.

    PURPOSE: A device and a method for recognizing a driver on the basis of ultrasonic waves are provided to improve a recognizing performance by not being influenced by a light environmental change. CONSTITUTION: A device and a method for recognizing a driver on the basis of ultrasonic waves comprise the following steps: receiving reflected ultrasonic waves from a driver location area when the driver location area receives the ultrasonic waves from an ultrasonic transmitting unit which is mounted in a vehicle and subsequently reflects the ultrasonic waves; obtaining driver depth information by utilizing the receiving time difference between the ultrasonic waves and reflected ultrasonic waves; and recognizing a driver by processing the driver depth information.
