The present invention relates to a torque converter for preventing sudden unintended acceleration installed in a vehicle. According to the present invention, the torque converter for preventing sudden unintended acceleration comprises: a valve controlling the flow of a fluid between a pump impeller and a turbine impeller; an opening unit opening the valve with a push rod by receiving a mechanical signal when an accelerator pedal is operated; and a blocking unit wherein the push rod is returned to an original position when the accelerator pedal is not operated to enable the valve to be blocked by the blocking unit. The flow of the fluid is opened inside the torque converter for preventing sudden unintended acceleration, according to the present invention, when the accelerator pedal is operated to enable power to be transmitted from an engine to a transmission, and the flow of the fluid is blocked when the accelerator pedal is not operated and power transmission is blocked, thereby reducing damage when sudden acceleration incidents occur.

    본 발명은 자동차에 설치되는 급발진 사고 방지를 위한 토크컨버터에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 급발진 방지 토크컨버터는 펌프날개차와 터빈날개차 사이에 유체의 흐름을 제어하는 밸브;가 구비되고 가속페달이 작동시 푸쉬로드;에 의하여 밸브를 개방해 주는 개방부;로 기계적 신호가 전달되어 상기 밸브를 개방하고, 가속페달이 작동하지 않게 되면, 상기 푸쉬로드는 원위치되며, 차단부;에 의하여 상기 밸브가 차단되는 것으로, 가속페달이 작동되면 본 발명에 따른 급발진 방지 토크컨버터의 내부에 유체흐름이 개방되어 엔진으로부터의 동력이 변속기로 전달이 되고, 가속페달이 작동하지 않으면 유체흐름이 차단되어 동력전달도 차단이 되어 급발진사고시에 피해를 줄이기 위한 것이다.
