To provide a vehicle suspension device provided with a damper having fixed damping force characteristic on a front wheel and a damping force variable damper on a rear wheel, and to provide a damping force control method for suppressing vibrations in a pitch direction.SOLUTION: A damping force control method includes a step (S4) of detecting or estimating front wheel sprung speed that is sprung speed of a front wheel damper which is interposed between a sprung structural body and a front wheel, and allows a damping force characteristic to be fixed thereto, and rear wheel sprung speed that is sprung speed of a rear wheel damper that is a damping force variable damper which is interposed between the sprung structural body and a rear wheel and is capable of controlling a damping force, a step (S5) of setting a pitch rotation center point on a straight line which passes through the position of gravity-center of the sprung structural body and is extended in a longitudinal direction of the sprung structural body, a step (S6) of calculating a target value of rear wheel sprung speed so that a moment of the sprung structural body around the pitch rotation center point of the sprung structural body gets to 0, and a step (S7) of controlling a damping force of a rear wheel damper so that a deviation of the rear wheel sprung speed which is detected or estimated with respect to the target value of the calculated rear wheel sprung speed decreases.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
【課題】前輪に減衰力特性が固定されたダンパーを設け後輪に減衰力可変ダンパーを設けた車両懸架装置において、ピッチ方向の振動を抑制する。【解決手段】減衰力制御方法では、ばね上構造体と前輪との間に介装され且つ減衰力特性が固定された前輪ダンパーのばね上速度である前輪ばね上速度と、ばね上構造体と後輪との間に介装され且つ減衰力を可変制御できる減衰力可変ダンパーである後輪ダンパーのばね上速度である後輪ばね上速度と、を検知又は推定し(S4)、ばね上構造体の重心位置を通りばね上構造体の前後方向に延びる直線上にピッチ回転中心点を設定し(S5)、ピッチ回転中心点周りのばね上構造体のモーメントが0となるように後輪ばね上速度の目標値を演算し(S6)、演算した後輪ばね上速度の目標値に対する検知又は推定した後輪ばね上速度の偏差が減少するように後輪ダンパーの減衰力を制御する(S7)。【選択図】図10
