To provide a viewpoint position estimation method and a viewpoint position estimation device capable of estimating the position of the viewpoint of a driver in a vehicle not provided with a camera for detecting the position of the viewpoint of the driver.SOLUTION: A view position estimation method and a view position estimation device display a plurality of marks on a display area which allows the surroundings of a vehicle to be seen through so as to be arranged along a perpendicular direction of the vehicle when viewed from a user seated at a driver seat of the vehicle. The view position estimation method and the view position estimation device generate, on the basis of an operation of the user, identification information for identifying a specific mark visually recognizable by the user without being blocked by a dashboard of the vehicle, and estimate, on the basis of the identification information, a height of a viewpoint of the user.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】運転者の視点の位置を検出するカメラを備えていない車両において、運転者の視点の位置を推定することが可能な視点位置推定方法及び視点位置推定装置を提供する。【解決手段】視点位置推定方法及び視点位置推定装置は、車両の運転席に着座するユーザからみて、車両の鉛直方向に沿うように、車両の周囲を透過させる表示領域に複数のマークを表示する。車両のダッシュボードによって遮蔽されずにユーザが視認可能な特定マークを識別する識別情報を、ユーザの操作に基づいて生成し、識別情報に基づいて、ユーザの視点の高さを推定する。【選択図】図1
