To improve user convenience.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device comprises: a recognition unit that recognizes a surrounding situation of a vehicle; an acquisition unit that acquires future speed information which is speed information regarding a route where a vehicle will travel in the future; a proposal unit that proposes an adjustment of a speed of the vehicle based on the future speed information; and a control unit that automatically controls the speed of the vehicle and causes the vehicle to travel based on the surrounding situation and the future speed information when a crew member approves the proposal, wherein: the proposal unit starts the proposal when the vehicle reaches a position that is a first predetermined distance away from a position associated with the future speed information; and the proposal unit accomplishes the proposal when the vehicle has traveled a second predetermined distance from the first predetermined distance, and a predetermined time has elapsed since the vehicle reached the first predetermined distance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
