To provide an automatic operation device, a notification control device, and a vehicle control method that can reduce the risk of impairing convenience or comfort for an occupant by traffic congestion.SOLUTION: A processor 31, which constitutes an automatic operation ECU 30, successively acquires a sleep depth including whether or not an occupant in a driver's seat is asleep while an automatic operation equivalent to the automation level 4 or 5 is being performed. Upon being caught in a traffic or detecting of being caught in a traffic within a predetermined time, the processor 31 changes the manner of reporting about the traffic congestion according to the sleep depth of the occupant in the driver's seat. If the occupant in the driver's seat is in a shallow sleep, the notification is implemented, while the notification is discontinued if the driver is in a deep sleep or the notification is put on hold until the driver gets shallower sleep.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
