To reduce temperature drop and temperature variation of intake air distributed to combustion chambers.SOLUTION: An intake device of a multiple cylinder engine 30 includes a surge tank 45 arranged adjacently to the engine 30, and a plurality of independent downstream side intake passages 46a for distributing and supplying intake air flowing from an inflow port 45a located at an intermediate portion in a cylinder row direction to the surge tank 45 to each of combustion chambers 33. The intake device further includes first and second air guide passages 52, 53 for guiding a travel wind to first and second outflow portions P1, P2 positioned farthest from the inflow port 45a to both end sides in the cylinder row direction, air quantity adjusting devices 60A, 60B for adjusting an air quantity flowing through the air guide passages 52, 53, and an air quantity controller 61 for controlling the air quantity adjusting devices 60A, 60B. The air quantity controller 61 controls the air quantity adjusting devices 60A, 60B on the basis of a temperature difference in the cylinder row direction of the surge tank 45.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
