To provide an air spring for a railroad vehicle that is improved to contribute to improvement in durability by preventing or suppressing a diaphragm from wrinkling owing to repeated torsional deformation while avoiding increases in number of components and weight as much as possible.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to an air spring A for railroad vehicle that has an upper support part on a vehicle body side, a lower support part on a carriage side, and an annular diaphragm 3 arranged over the upper support part and lower support part, wherein the diaphragm 3 consists of a main material layer 3s made of a flexible material and a reinforcement layer 3h embedded in the main material layer 3s while extending along a diaphram circumferential direction, and an overlap part J which has diaphragm circumference-directional end parts 7a, 7b of the reinforcement layer 3h superposed to a predetermined length is provided extending obliquely to a diaphragm axis-P direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4

    【課題】部品点数や重量の増加が極力生じないようにしながら、繰り返しの捩じり変形によるダイヤフラムのシワを防止又は抑制して耐久性向上に寄与できるように改善された鉄道車両用空気ばねを提供する。【解決手段】車体側の上支持部と、台車側の下支持部と、上支持部と下支持部とに亘って配備される環状のダイヤフラム3とを有する鉄道車両用空気ばねAであって、ダイヤフラム3は、可撓性を有する材料からなる主材層3sと、ダイヤフラム周方向に沿って延びる状態で主材層3sに埋設される補強層3hとからなり、補強層3hのダイヤフラム周方向の端部どうし7a,7aを所定長さで重ねた重複部Jが、ダイヤフラム軸心P方向に対して傾いた方向に延びる状態に設けられている。【選択図】図4
