To provide a fuel battery system capable of stably operating a ship even in an execution period of recovery control for recovering power generation performance of a fuel battery.SOLUTION: A fuel battery system 53 comprises a fuel battery 531, a first control unit 181, and a second control unit 183. The fuel battery 531 supplies power to a propulsion device 9 for generating propulsion force in a ship body 1. The first control unit 181 executes recovery control for recovering power generation performance of the fuel battery 531 by controlling power to be generated by the fuel battery 531. The second control unit 183 executes excessive power absorption control or insufficient power compensation control in an execution period of the recovery control. The excessive power absorption control shows control for making a power source 7 capable of supplying power to the propulsion device 9 absorb excessive power of the fuel battery 531 with respect to target power of the propulsion device 9. The insufficient power compensation control shows control for making the power source 7 compensate for insufficient power of the fuel battery with respect to the target power.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
