PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discharge a large amount of cation impurities to the outside.SOLUTION: A fuel battery comprises: a membrane-electrode assembly 10 having an electrolyte membrane 11 and a cathode catalyst layer 12; cathode-side and anode-side water-repellent layers 14, 15 disposed on side faces of the membrane-electrode assembly on both sides thereof; and a cathode-side separator 18 having a cathode gas passage 20 disposed on a face of the water-repellent layer on the side opposite to the membrane-electrode assembly and serving to circulate air to be supplied to the catalyst layer, and an air discharge manifold 31 connected to the gas passage. The gas passage has, in a downmost flow path at a downmost position in a gravity direction with the fuel battery installed in a vehicle, a discharge water suppressing part 38 for suppressing the discharge of liquid water to the manifold, and a water storage part 22 located upstream from the discharge water suppressing part, in which the liquid water is stored with the aid of the discharge water suppressing part. The water-repellent layer is provided with a liquid water connection part 24 extending through the water-repellent layer for liquid water connection between the catalyst layer and the water storage part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
