To provide a rubber composition for a tire suitable for a tread rubber for a tire for winter, and improved in puncture resistance.SOLUTION: A rubber composition for a tire contains: a styrenic elastomer-containing elastomer component; and a short fibrous resin D in which a ratio (A/B) of a length A of a cross section in a major axis direction in the cross section perpendicular to a long axis direction to a length B of the cross section in a minor diameter direction perpendicular to the major axis direction is larger than 2. In the elastomer component, a percentage content of the butadiene rubber is 0-60 mass%, and a percentage content of the styrenic elastomer is 10-60 mass%, and a styrene content is 0.8-11 mass% based on the total amount of the butadiene rubber and the styrenic elastomer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
