To provide a connection beam for a crane and a mounting method for the connection beam for the crane that are able to reduce a load applied to an upper revolving body when turning the upper revolving body while running a self-propelled carriage, capable of supporting a counterweight, in parallel.SOLUTION: A connection beam 60 includes: a slider 62 having a carriage connection portion 621 that is connected to a self-propelled carriage 50; and a beam body 61 having a revolving-body connection portion 610A that is connected to an upper revolving body 11. The beam body 61 supports the slider 62 movably in a longitudinal direction while restraining the slider in a lateral direction of the upper revolving body 11 so as to allow the self-propelled carriage 50 to move in the longitudinal direction relative to the upper revolving body 11 by traveling of the self-propelled carriage 50 in a direction including the longitudinal direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
