To provide a method of manufacturing a vehicle body including a vehicle collision energy absorption part that improves the collision energy absorption effect when a collision load is inputted to cause axial crushing and prevents manufacturing costs from being increased.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a vehicle body including a vehicle collision energy absorption part 1 according to the present invention includes: a part manufacturing step S1 of manufacturing the vehicle collision energy absorption part 1; and a vehicle body assembling step S3 of attaching the vehicle collision energy absorption part 1 to assemble the vehicle body. The part manufacturing step S1 includes: a pre-paint part manufacturing step S1-1 of manufacturing a pre-paint part 2 that includes a cylindrical member 3 formed of a hut cross-sectional member and a film formation member 5 made of a material with a strength lower than the cylindrical member 3 and disposed at an interval 11 of 0.2 mm or more and 3 mm or less on an outer surface of a portion including a corner portion 7c of the cylindrical member 3; and a film formation step S1-2 of forming a film 13 in the interval 11 by electrodeposition coating.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】衝突荷重が入力して軸圧壊する際に、衝突エネルギーの吸収効果が向上し、かつ、生産コストが大きく上昇することのない自動車用衝突エネルギー吸収部品を有する車体の製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】本発明に係る自動車用衝突エネルギー吸収部品1を有する車体の製造方法は、自動車用衝突エネルギー吸収部品1を製造する部品製造工程S1と、自動車用衝突エネルギー吸収部品1を取り付けて車体を組み立てる車体組立工程S3とを備え、部品製造工程S1は、ハット断面部材を用いて形成された筒状部材3と、筒状部材3におけるコーナー部7cを含む部分の外面に0.2mm以上3mm以下の隙間11を空けて配設される筒状部材3より強度の低い材質からなる塗膜形成部材5とを有する塗装前部品2を製造する塗装前部品製造工程S1-1と、隙間11に電着塗装によって塗膜13を形成する塗膜形成工程S1-2とを備えたことを特徴とする。【選択図】 図1
