To contribute to safe driving by making it easier for the driver to grasp a sense of distance by providing a wider range of much more viewing information when the driver is checking the rearview and by making it easy to display an image that approximates a reflected image familiar from conventional flat or convex mirrors.SOLUTION: An electronic rearview system has a simple basic configuration of a camera 1, a display driver 2, and a display 3 for rearward photography without using a half mirror or a camera with a zoom lens. In addition to an image of almost the entire horizontal area of the rear of a vehicle captured by the camera 1, a partially enlarged image of a camera-captured image to a display range close to that of a reflected image of a conventional flat or convex mirror is displayed with simple operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】運転者が後方視界確認を行う場合に、より広い範囲の多くの視界情報を提供するとともに、従来の平面鏡や凸面鏡で見慣れた反射像に近似した画像を容易に表示できるようにして、運転者が距離感を掴みやすく安全運転に寄与する。【解決手段】ハーフミラーやズームレンズを用いたカメラなどを用いずに後方撮影用のカメラ1と表示ドライバー2とディスプレイ3のシンプルな基本構成の電子後方視界システムであって、カメラ1で撮影した車両後方の水平方向ほぼ全領域の画像に加え、カメラの撮影画像を従来の平面鏡や凸面鏡の反射像に近い表示範囲まで部分拡大した画像を簡単操作で表示する。【選択図】図1
