To provide a vehicle direction estimation device that accurately estimates a direction of another vehicle around an own vehicle.SOLUTION: A vehicle direction estimation device that estimates a direction of another vehicle around an own vehicle includes: a self-position information acquisition unit 41 that acquires self-position information on an own vehicle 100; a map information acquisition unit 42 that acquires map information on the surrounding of the own position of the own vehicle, the map information having a plurality of lane display points arranged at regular intervals along the lane; an another vehicle position estimation unit 43 that estimates a relative position of the another vehicle around the own vehicle with respect to the own vehicle; and a direction estimation unit 44 that estimates the direction of the another vehicle with respect to the own vehicle. The direction estimation unit estimates the position of the another vehicle on the map information based on the self-position information and the relative position of the another vehicle with respect to the own vehicle, and estimates an angle formed by the direction of a straight line connecting two lane display points arranged before and after the lane display point closest to the position of the another vehicle on the map information and the driving direction of the own vehicle as a direction of the another vehicle with respect to the own vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7

    【課題】自車両の周りの他車両の向きを正確に推定する。【解決手段】自車両の周りの他車両の向きを推定する車両向き推定装置は、自車両100の自己位置情報を取得する自己位置情報取得部41と、車線に沿って一定間隔で配置された複数の車線表示点を有する地図情報であって前記自車両の自己位置周りの地図情報を取得する地図情報取得部42と、自車両の周囲の他車両の自車両に対する相対位置を推定する他車両位置推定部43と、自車両に対する他車両の向きを推定する向き推定部44とを備える。向き推定部は、自己位置情報及び自車両に対する他車両の相対位置に基づいて地図情報上における他車両の位置を推定すると共に、地図情報上において他車両の位置に最も近接する車線表示点の前後2つの車線表示点を結ぶ直線の方向と自車両の進行方向とのなす角度を、自車両に対する前記他車両の向きとして推定する。【選択図】図7
