PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direction estimation device that can be created at lower cost.SOLUTION: A direction estimation unit 13 extracts seven types of feature quantities on the basis of reception strength R, R, Rand Rat four antennas 11A-D provided at different positions of a host vehicle. In addition, it makes them result in a direction index value which is one value by performing weighted linear coupling of the feature quantities using weighting factors and bias factors corresponding to the respective feature quantities. It then compares the direction index value with a threshold value predetermined by machine learning, and thereby estimates whether a mounted bicycle is situated at a non-line-of-sight right side or at a non-line-of-sight left side to the host vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】より低コストで実現可能な方向推定装置を提供する。【解決手段】方向推定部13は、自車両において異なる位置に設けられている4つのアンテナ11A〜Dでの受信強度RA,RB,RC,RDに基づいて、7種類の特徴量を抽出する。また、各特徴量を、各特徴量に対応する重み係数及びバイアス係数を用いて重み付け線形結合させることで、1つの値である方向指標値に帰結させる。そして、方向指標値と、予め機械学習によって決定しておいた閾値とを比較することで、搭載自転車が自車両にとって見通し外右側に存在するのか、見通し外左側に存在するのかを推定する。【選択図】図1
