To provide an operation support apparatus capable of shifting from a start to a tracking state smoothly when starting a vehicle from a stopped state following a preceding vehicle.SOLUTION: An operation support apparatus 120 includes: an inter-vehicular distance detection part 121 for detecting an actual inter-vehicular distance between a vehicle and a preceding vehicle traveling ahead of the vehicle; a relative speed detection part 122 for detecting an actual relative speed between the vehicle and preceding vehicle; and a target acceleration determination part 124 for determining target acceleration of the vehicle on the basis of the actual inter-vehicular distance and actual relative speed. When starting the vehicle from the stopped state following the preceding vehicle, the target acceleration determination part 124 performs first tracking control in which to determine the target acceleration so that the actual inter-vehicular distance approaches a target inter-vehicular distance and then shift to second tracking control in which to determine target acceleration so that the actual relative speed approaches a target relative vehicular speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】車両を停止させた状態から先行車に追従して発進させる際に、発進から追従状態への移行をスムーズに行うことを可能とする運転支援装置を提供する。【解決手段】運転支援装置120は、車両と車両の前方を走行する先行車との間の実車間距離を検出する車間距離検出部121と、車両と先行車との間の実相対速度を検出する相対速度検出部122と、実車間距離、及び実相対速度に基づいて、車両の目標加速度を決定する目標加速度決定部124と、を備え、目標加速度決定部124は、車両を停止させた状態から先行車に追従して発進させる際、実車間距離が目標車間距離に近づくように目標加速度を決定する第1追従制御を行った後、実相対車速が目標相対車速に近づくように目標加速度を決定する第2追従制御に移行する。【選択図】図2
