To provide a power storage system and a vehicle that can suppress the situation where the SMR cannot be made conductive due to foreign matters mixed in the SMR.SOLUTION: The SMR50 includes relays SMRB, SMRG, SMRP and a limiting resistor 52 connected in series with the relay SMRP. Each of the relays SMRB and SMRG is a contact relay. The ECU 70 executes a predetermined foreign matter removal process when one of the relays SMRB and SMRG cannot be changed from the power cutoff state to the conductive state. The foreign matter removal process includes the process of making conductive the relay that is not the one that cannot be made conductive from the state where both relays SMRB and SMRG are in the power off state, and then outputting an ON command to the relay that cannot be made conductive.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
