To provide a battery status determination system and a battery status determination method that can determine the deterioration state of a battery mounted on a vehicle with higher accuracy in a server device.SOLUTION: A battery status determination system includes an on-vehicle device and a server device, the on-vehicle device includes an acquisition unit that acquires physical quantity data indicating the physical quantity related to the state of a battery mounted on a vehicle, an observation unit that observes characteristics related to battery state changes at a plurality of different observation times on the basis of the physical quantity data, and a transmission unit that transmits a plurality of pieces of characteristic data representing the characteristics observed at the respective observation times to the server device, and the server device includes a receiving unit that receives the plurality of pieces of characteristic data transmitted by the on-vehicle device and a diagnostic unit that diagnoses the deterioration state of the battery on the basis of the plurality of pieces of characteristic data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
