To provide a follow-up travel control device capable of reducing a risk that a following vehicle may collide with an own vehicle from the rear, when there occurs a situation where, although a relative speed between the own vehicle and a preceding vehicle is close to 0, an inter-vehicle distance deviation is small.SOLUTION: When ACC control is started in a situation where a preceding vehicle is present near ahead of an own vehicle (S11: YES), a relative speed between the own vehicle and the preceding vehicle is often close to 0. In this case, there occurs a situation where, although the relative speed between the own vehicle and the preceding vehicle is close to 0, an inter-vehicle distance deviation which is a value obtained by subtracting a target inter-vehicle distance from an inter-vehicle distance between the own vehicle and the preceding vehicle is small (S12: YES). In such a situation, target acceleration (deceleration) set for the inter-vehicle distance deviation is corrected to be reduced so that the deceleration of a vehicle 1 due to the actuation of an ACC brake is reduced (S17), when: the relative speed in a direction causing the own vehicle to approach the preceding vehicle does not occur; the ACC brake is not being actuated; the own vehicle is not traveling on a downhill; and an own vehicle speed is not lower than a prescribed vehicle speed (S13-S16: NO).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】自車と先行車との相対速度が0に近いにもかかわらず、車間距離偏差が小さい状況が発生した場合に、自車が後続車に後突される危険性を下げることができる、追従走行制御装置を提供する。【解決手段】自車の前方近くに先行車が存在する状況でのACC制御の開始時には(S11:YES)、自車と先行車との相対速度が0に近い場合が多い。この場合、自車と先行車との相対速度が0に近いにもかかわらず、自車と先行車との車間距離から目標車間距離を減算した値である車間距離偏差が小さい状況となるが(S12:YES)、自車が先行車に近づく方向の相対速度が発生しておらず、ACCブレーキの作動中でなく、自車が下り坂を走行中でなく、かつ、自車速が所定車速未満でない場合には(S13〜S16:NO)、ACCブレーキの作動による車両1の減速度が弱まるように、車間距離偏差に対して設定される目標加速度(減速度)が低減補正される(S17)。【選択図】図2
