To provide a technique for suppressing occurrence of buckling at a large diameter part in manufacture of a pipe by UO bending method.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method for a pipe having a large diameter part, a small diameter part, and a reduced diameter part connecting the large diameter part and the small diameter part includes a step at which a metal plate is formed into a U-shaped member having a U-shaped cross section, and a step at which the U-shaped member is formed into a pipe shape. The U-shaped member has a bent part which faces an opening between both ends of the U-shaped cross section, and a pair of opposite side walls which are continuous with the bent part. An opening degree between a pair of opposite side walls of a portion for forming the small diameter part is larger than an opening degree between a pair of opposite side walls of a portion for forming the large diameter part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
